Let’s start with the bad things so we can get rid of them.
When you are self-employed you don’t have a secure source of income. Nobody can
guarantee you a monthly pay and you can’t be sure you will have enough money to
pay your bills. It can also be boring to work for yourself. Also being in a
social environment at work, with colleagues is very good for your moral and
also constructive, as you can exchange ideas and get support.
On the other hand it is healthy to be self-employed as you
an stay at home and cook your lunches, have flexible hours and fit all of your
activities in with your work. Also, you don’t have a boss to constantly stress
you out and tell you what to do.
I prefer working in a collective environment, but I find
self-employment to be more appropriate in sme cases, like being a photographer.
